ATLAS SEWER/WATER INFRASTRUCTURE - Alliston Trunk Sanitary Sewer

Under adverse conditions resulting from a mild winter, Atlas installed over 8,200 feet (2,500 metres) of wellpoint dewatering systems to assist Armbro Construction in the installation of a trunk sanitary sewer. During different phases of the project, Atlas was required to install the wellpoints in three stages at varying depths in order to lower the groundwater. At the height of the project, Atlas operated 12 Wellpoint Pumps connected to over 6,500 feet (2,000 metres) of system. Initial pumping was in excess of 21.6 Million US Gallons per day (56,800 l/min). Even with the adverse conditions, Atlas' experience enabled the project to be successfully completed on schedule.
